Under The Weather....
Monday blues especially for Selangorians since it was a long weekend. Not to worry because there will be more coming. Feeling a little under the weather today. Everyone around is coughing and sneezing so I get caught up as well. The weather has suddenlly changed from rainy to blazing hot. I have no complaints as I could see blue skies from the comfort of home and the laundry gets dried up very fast. I try not to,unneccesarily, go out in the sun on days like this.
On the way to the wedding last Saturday, I snapped some pictures of landmarks that caught my eyes and a picture of Hasif, my neighbor's grandson in the midst of some potted plants. My purple blooms have wiltered after a week....Nothing lasts forever....

A Wedding In Taman Permata
School holidays are the season for weddings. Fortunately, the invitations I received were well spaced out so I don't have to rush here and there on the same day. This round, it's my cousin's son. I'm ashamed to admit that this was my first time at his house and I've never met his children except when they were still very small. All of us cousins used to be very close during our school and younger days. There were our parents to bind us together. After parents passed away, many of us drifted apart as we're busy with our own lives and meeting was only confined to weddings. As a result, the children grew up not knowing many second cousins even if they bump into each other anywhere. Sad but that's the reality of life.

A Day With Suya
My friend, Putri Thuraiya is back from KK after a few months of setting up Metrojaya new store in Suria Sabah. It was a challenging task operating in an uncompleted building and having an uncondusive surroundings. The building management could not complete the building on time as promised but Metrojaya decided to carry on with their plan to open to public on 3 December. The good part, according to her, the office faces the sea from which she could see beautiful sunset every evening. She called me up to have lunch at her place yesterday to catch up on the latest happenings. From her place, we visited her mum in Kelana Jaya where I spotted a few dragonflies in the porch. After tea and exchange of stories with her sister and mum, we went grocery shopping at Giant. Had dinner at Laksa Shack where we enjoyed delicious Laksa Sarawak for a change.Yummy.....By the time she sent me home, it was 10.00pm. When you are having a good time, time seemed to fly past and fast. I really enjoy such moments with good friends.

Some Extra Photos From My Last Weekend Trip Home....
This round I'll let the pictures paint a thousand words. I have told my stories of the weekend trip and I'm rather lost for words to write now. It happens sometimes, for we are only humans. There are times when the ideas just run out. There are times when what we need is just quiet reflections.

The Sultan and Son
Today is our Sultan's Birthday and a holiday in Selangor. A day when it is better not to enter the city if you don't want to be caught up by ridiculous taffic grid. Furthermore, it's Friday. Many Selangor folks take the opportunity of the holiday to go shopping in the city. It'll be long weekends from this week until year end as every Friday hereafter will be a public holiday. It makes no difference to me but it'll be a joy to those who are still working so hard. Enjoy the break!

From My Eldest Sister's Garden.....
Uploading photos these few days have been really challenging. Don't know what's wrong with the internet connection. I really can't wait for the promise for faster connection to materialise. Perhaps it's a sign that I should do something else.....reading, perhaps, spring cleaning the whole house, may be. Year end is drawing near. Another year gone, a new dawn of fresh hopes, anticipation, challenges.

A Nite In Kelana Resort...
On our way back to Seremban on Sunday, we stopped by for brunch at Seremban R&R. We do this every time as we like the clean and nice surroundings. Food at Shalala Cafe was not bad at all. The nasi ayam and laksa were in fact good. After a tiring day clearing the house in kampung, we decided to spend a nite at the resort instead of troubling the other sisters as they had their family members at home. I like the place nestled in the green and shady lake gardens. For a while, it felt like I was in another place, another state instead of Seremban. The resort provides facilities for team building activities too. I forgot to bring my exercise gear and it's such a waste as the place is perfect for jogging or brisk walking. Actually, if you care to stop and look around, beauty of God's creations is all around you. Owned fully by the State Government, I took the opportunity to send sms to the MB on positive feedback on the resort and he smsed his thank you and said the government would continue to do the best for the state. After checking out, I drove into town and noticed many buildings I used to know are still standing. Even the book shop that my dad used to take me to buy books is still there. I had to abandon my intention to roam the town on foot as the weather was hot and I did not want my sister to be too tired out. On other sides of the town, there are new facets and highways to smoothen the journey. We dropped by our other sisters' home and also visited my uncle on mum's side at Columbia Hospital. He has been there for 2 weeks due to stroke and is currently in ICU. I pray that he will recover from his ordeal, God willing.

It's No Wonder......
No wonder I felt strongly about going back to kampung. My house was broken into. At a glance, nothing seemed to be different. When I entered, I noticed the chairs had been stacked up and I realized that something was amiss. I then noticed some missing items. As I went up, I saw a piece of the ceiling had been removed and the lock to the front part of the house was broken. A drawer in my closet which I had not been able to open as I had lost the key was also opened. I found some important documents, letters, photos and an article I wrote way back in the yesteryears. Very nostalgic, indeed. Almost brought tears to my eyes. Those days, whenever there was a wedding or kenduri, we never rent or borrowed utensils as we had enough sets for a few hundreds guests. My parents used to let other villagers and relatives used them too without any charges. Even broken ones were seldom replaced. Many of those plates, cups, saucers were from Japan, England, Holland. My sisters and me took some home and I have arranged for the rest to take whatever balance left before all are gone. It would be really heart sick. I could not meet the garderner on my trip home as he and family had gone to a wedding but I was rather unhappy that he left my front gate unlocked. I have often stressed that it should be locked unless there's a function at the mosque and the lawn is required for people to park. Tried calling his handphone many times to no avail. Sometimes I wonder why some people bother to use handphones in the first place if we cannot even communicate important details to them..

My Purple Blooms....
When I drove into my porch this morning after a few days absence, the purple flowers were the first things that caught my eyes. So pretty against the blue sky. I guess this species loves the rain and the cool air. I remember it often blooms around year end. They add color to my garden and I always look forward to the purple blooms.

Missing My Hometown....
I miss my kampung and that's where I'm headed to with my sister. I have not gone back since Aidilfitri. Seems so ridiculous as it's just an hour and a half away. Used to think that I'd be able to go home more frequently when I'm no longer working but it hasn't materialised for numerous reasons. It would be different if I have a close relative's family staying in the house. Going home would be more fun. Perhaps this time, I should take a walk around Seremban town to see what has changed and what has not. The minor earthquake that hit Kuala Pilah was pretty worrying too as it has never happened before. Let's pray that no major calamities will struck later on.
I shall leave you all with these photos from my humble garden and my neighbor's orchids (except last enlarged picture). I don't know what these purple buds are called but this round, there are many of them. I hope they will wait for me to come back on Tuesday or Wednesday to fully bloom. Such a pretty sight and it happens only once in a purple moon.

Layman-Ye lah...dah musim. Iols pun terkejut tenguk banyak buds kali ni. Dia ni berbunga musim ujan kot. Ni bukan garden kat kg. Kat sini.
Sweet Moments-Thanx. Tunggu.....the blooms will be featured soon.
PI-Macam mana pun saya tetap tak leh lupakan kg. Maklumlah....besar kat sana. Sayang bila balik, tak leh lagi tido sana sebab dah tak selamat. Rumah lama tinggal. Anai2 yg menghuni... |
