Cuti Nuzul Al-Qur'an

It's Nuzul Al-Qur'an holiday for some states. For sure many will take this day to go out shopping for Raya and as usual, KL becomes so congested for city folks who have to go to work. Hopefully, in the midst of shopping excitement, we don't forget to remember what the day actually means for Muslims. Nuzul means coming down/turun. It was on this day that the first ayat of the Al-Qur'an was relayed by Allah to our prophet in Gua Hiraq and it was delivered to him in stages thereafter until it was as complete as we have it today. May Allah gives us the strength, hunger to read the Al-Qur'an and it's translation daily for inside it lies the answer to all the questions/happening of this world. Alhamdulillah, our halaqah has completed our recitation of 30 juzuk on 10th day of Ramadhan. We are going to have the qatam ceremony to be preceded by sembahyang sunat tasbih, tomorrow morning. Syukur alhamdulillah.

Saya mmg dari pagi lah selalunya sbb tak byk urusan pagi2. By 9.00am selalunya semua dah ada. Group saya dipimpin oleh Cikgu Mariam yg memang mendalam ilmu tajwid al Qur'annya.

Buka Puasa Choices

Come Ramadhan, Ramadhan Bazaar will be found every where, my place in Subang Jaya included. On the first puasa evening, I went with Wani and Bulat to check what was available. It was so crowded at 5.30pm that I really felt rather suffocated. That mission was also to check-out my friends' son's stall selling nasi lemak ayam rempah. Just to give moral support to his good work/effort. The nasi lemak was good but perhaps due to other more known competitors, it did not sell well. So, he has shifted focus to other food items and nangka from his dad's garden. These days, if I go to the bazaar, I would do so at 3.30pm when it is a breeze to walk and choose since I have the luxury of time on my side. I don't mind brazing the sun in comparison to josstling in overcrowded area The above nasi lemak is just RM1. Not enough portion when you see it while hungry but actually, it's just the right amount. Now that age is catching up, I no longer eat all I want. Just sparingly to fill up. I feel more comfortable that way. Even drinks. I don't gulp down 2 glasses or more at the breaking of fast but after maghrib prayers and later in the night. The above drink was made by my son-in-law. It had pudina, serai, lai chi, soda inside. Hmm...it tasted great. You can give it a try.....

Semangat Ramadhan Bersama Semangat Patriotik

After so many attempts, I finally managed to upload photos here...Little wonder that many disappear else where where login and upload is a breeze.as I myself discovers. Fotopages is really not bothered about competition and loosing users. Their Editor's choice has not been updated for ages. Anyway, I still have my heart here as this is my first avenue in sharing my thoughts and photos with likeminded friends. We are 2 weeks into Ramadhan. My 10 days (morning till noon) were filled with taddarrus with my group. Alhamdulillah, we managed to complete as schedule. Now on, everyone is free to do their own activities/ibadat. In the midst, I've also put up my flag in conjuction with Merdeka celebration/month. Since the mango tree is gone, the flag can really fly to the maximum on a windy day, which is pretty often these days. As in previous years, this year's Ramadhan is also punctuated with controversies...I would not want to dwell into those as the papers/other media have said enough. It's also sad to see our student in UK, Asyraf Haziq bashed and robbed during the ugly riot. I have nothing but praise for him for his positiveness and forgiving nature. He kind of reminded me of me. My forgiving nature in certain issue got some of my friends up the wall. I maintained my stand. For many people, it would be near impossible to feel so. My hearts goes to the three guys who were knocked down while protecting their area and to all who had lost lives and properties to those young hooligans.

My Other ITM Buddies - D-Bunch

View all 12 photos...
I have another set of ITM buddies whom I was very close with. The interesting part was, we came from different faculties with a few from Business, Transport, Engineering and Applied Sciences. Out of class, I was mostly with them, Zairin included. We really had lots of fun together, studied together, went to mamak teria together. They used to come to my kampung too. Milah, especially, loved the padi fields behind my house. We went picnicking at Bukit Belachan in Ampang and Morib too. We took bus here and there but it was no problems at all. Life was just so joyous. There was a funny incident when a few of us took part in a talentime and everything went wrong. The song was Georgy Girl and somehow it was a total disaster. Apen (Ariffin) teases me about it till this day. I remember locking myself in my room for days out of embarrassment. Actually, I really want to be able to put it behind me but Apen doesn't allow me the opportunity. I won talentime contest in school. I guess, I was/am better off singing alone than in a group. I can't remember who chose the song. Must be Apen. Apen, Suya and me met up at Kelantan Delights, recently. We have managed to trace 3 more members through facebook. It would be great to have a Reunion soon, after Raya. I hope Chong can fly down from KK. We are still tracing two more members. Those were the days,my friends......we thought would never end.....

Zairin-Ye lah, I guess all of DBunch masih macam dulu. Happy sokmo...Nanti bila u balik, kita Reunion lagi. Dulu Razak dok Kg Baru.
Hjh Zae-Seronok zaman tu. Tak do hal langsung turun naik bas. Kalau maso nak rayo, berobut-robut sampai lobam. Selain tu, we all hitch hike. Selamat then....
